Without much noise Kama Yachts in Warsaw has developed a new 2,4mR yacht, the Proton 2,4.
The Proton reveals a designer unafraid of treading new paths. The norm in the 2,4mR class so far
has been to maximise volume and RM (righting moment) and sail area.
The Proton has been designed with focus on minimum drag when moving through the water
at the cost of sail-area and RM. Weather this bid is competitive at top level in the class is still
to be revealed as we have not seen it taking part in any major regatta yet.
We have invited the Kama team to join us here in Gothenburg to help them evaluate the design
for the spring 2010 and we sincerely wish them welcome in the class and to our fleet.
